Carnew Training & Development Centre is proud to host Coderdojo Carnew.
What is Coderdojo?
Coderdojo is a global, free coding club for children (& parents). It is ran and organised by volunteers who are themselves passionate about computers and coding.
From their website www. coderdojo.com
CoderDojo believes that an understanding of programming languages is increasingly important in the modern world, that it’s both better and easier to learn these skills early, and that nobody should be denied the opportunity to do so! Any young person aged 7 – 17 can join and attend a Dojo for FREE! At a Dojo they will learn skills such as building a website, creating an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment.
When and where does it run?
Coderdojo Carnew meets up bi-monthly on Saturday mornings 10am – 11.30am.
What goes on? What do I need to bring?
Children will be shown how to use Scratch, how to code a webpage etc. The skills shown are based on the mentors knowledge so Coderdojo Carnew is always on the look-out for new mentors with new cool things to teach. All children must be accompanied by a parent and must also have their own laptop.
How do I join?
Sessions are limited to spaces and booking a space is essential. Booking sessions is done through the website www.coderdojo.com
