Fire Safety Awareness Course

The Fire Safety Awareness Course, delivered by a QQI-certified instructor, is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical awareness required to help prevent fires and respond safely and effectively in the event of a fire in the workplace.

The course covers the common causes of workplace fires, fire prevention, fire hazards, emergency procedures, evacuation protocols and the correct actions to take if a fire occurs.

Participants will learn about different types of fire and fire extinguishers, including how to identify the appropriate extinguisher for a particular fire. The course also highlights the importance of fire detection and alarm systems, emergency exits, assembly points and maintaining clear escape routes.

The training helps participants understand their responsibilities in relation to workplace fire safety and provides them with the confidence to respond appropriately during a fire emergency.

• The fire triangle and different classes of fire
• Types of fire extinguishers and their appropriate uses
• Fire alarm and detection systems
• Emergency evacuation procedures
• Emergency exits and escape routes
• Assembly points and headcounts
• Roles and responsibilities during a fire emergency
• Appropriate actions to take if a fire occurs

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Fire Safety Awareness Certificate valid for three years.

Course Requirements

Participants must:

• have a good standard of spoken and written English
• be 16 years of age or older
• bring valid photo identification
• wear appropriate clothing and suitable footwear for practical training

Fire Warden Add-on

Participants have the option to add Fire Warden training to this course at an additional cost of €20.00 if required.
