ICDL – PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COURSE

Course Description

ICDL or International Computer Driving Licence (formally ECDL) is the certification most widely recognised and highly valued by employers.

ICDL Professional is designed to meet the needs of modern professionals in a range of sectors and develops an advanced level of skills for those with technology-reliant roles.

ICDL Professional contains a range of advanced modules that focus on the use of productivity applications such as Word Processors; Spreadsheets, Presentations etc. The syllabus content of each module is supported by learning materials that mirror day-to-day tasks and responsibilities typical of a role in the sector or industry.  It is a requirement that candidates complete the relevant module in ICDL Workforce (or equivalent) before embarking on an ICDL Professional Module.

We offer two different study options for ICDL PROFESSIONAL which are:

Tutor-led class – this option can be offered to small groups wishing to complete an ICDL Professional Module together.  It covers one module at a time and is suitable for groups of four to six people.  Candidates will attend in-person classes led by a tutor, twice weekly for 10 weeks and will also be expected to complete revision work at home.  The tutor will provide all instruction and information necessary in a structured format.  Classes are small, allowing for a more focused approach and may suit companies who have staff wishing to upskill.
Blended learning – this option is ideal for individuals wishing to complete an ICDL Professional Module.  It covers one module at a time, and offers the flexibility of learning at the individual’s own pace, while also having the support of a tutor.  The Blended Learning option requires the learner to take control of their own learning at home, using an online learning unit.  Learners have greater flexibility and convenience, with 24/7 access to the learning unit. Five hours of tutor classroom support are also offered for a period of 10 weeks per module from enrollment so learners can have face-to-face or online video tuition to clarify any points that they are finding difficult.

Course Content

The modules currently available to study for ICDL Professional are:

• Advanced Documents – Take word processing to the next level with advanced typographical, formatting and layouts, including tables, forms and graphics.  Learn how to use tools like macros and advanced mail merge options, and manage large documents
• Financial Spreadsheets – The Financial Spreadsheets module covers the advanced skills needed to produce sophisticated reports, perform complex mathematical and statistical calculations, and improve productivity using a spreadsheet application
• Management Spreadsheets – The Management Spreadsheets module covers the advanced skills needed to use the versatile features of spreadsheets to produce reports, provide statistical or mathematical analysis, and manage data more effectively and productively
• Advanced Presentations – Learn how to create and deliver compelling high-impact and information-rich presentations using advanced formatting and layout techniques and multimedia effects.  You will also learn how to manipulate images, objects and charts

Who Should Attend

• Anyone who has completed the corresponding modules at ICDL Workforce level and wishes to expand on that knowledge

Assessment

• On-line based, supervised exam at the end of each module

Entry Requirements

Participants must:

• have a good understanding of both written and verbal English
• have completed the corresponding module in ICDL Workforce
• have access to a desktop computer or laptop on which they can practice at home
• have a good Internet connection if opting for the Blended option
• bring photo ID with them
