Our Building

Our building was originally constructed in the 1830s as an ecumenical school and continued to serve as a school until the 20th century. In 1995, it was refurbished and transformed into an enterprise centre, before becoming a computer training centre in 1998.

Over the years, we have continued to develop our services in response to the changing needs of our local and wider community. Health and Safety training was introduced in 2013, followed by eLearning in 2017 and consultancy services in 2021.

We are committed to continuing to evolve and grow, ensuring that our services remain relevant and accessible to the communities we serve.

Carnew Training & Consultancy

At Carnew Training & Consultancy, we provide high-quality training and support that enables people to acquire and develop skills and knowledge at all levels.

We work closely with state agencies and community organisations to help address social exclusion arising from geographical barriers and limited access to services. Our work supports a wide range of groups, including:

  • The long-term unemployed
  • One-parent families
  • The Traveller community
  • People with disabilities
  • Older people
  • Ex-prisoners
  • People with limited educational attainment
  • People experiencing low self-esteem
  • People who face difficulties accessing training due to limited local transport

We place particular emphasis on making training and development opportunities accessible to those who may otherwise face barriers to participation.

Our Aim

Carnew Training & Consultancy aims to build the capacity of people living in rural areas of South Wicklow, East Carlow and North Wexford. By developing skills, knowledge and confidence, we empower individuals to participate more fully in their communities and contribute to the growth, development and long-term sustainability of their local areas.
